With all due respect, I would *never* expect a ninja to tank very well. I would see a ninja as a melee combatant that relies on tricks or very good dodging skills to survive.
If anything, a ninja would really be some sort of warrior-mesmer combination - excellent weapon skills, ways of tripping up enemies, but not good in a stand-up fight.
The problem is, you would need to add some new conditions to properly represent this; we already have blindness, but we'd also need a sort of "confuse" ability to make the enemy sort of forget where you are or lose track of you. Furthermore, when I think of ninja, I think of agility and dirty tricks, not being able to stand and fight - that's what kills ninja.
I think assassins focus too much on damage and not enough on the tricks.

You made your post very organized, but for several reasons, your concept won't interest many people. The GW world has the assassin class and it's far too similar. As far as GW goes, it simply doesn't belong in the GW world. Assassins have been in place since Factions and you know that ninja, as an alternative to assassin, is only a dream limited to you and maybe even a few others. Would you seriously like to see an assassin and ninja class side by side in battle? People would think "what the @#$% is the difference!?" They'd be right.
Here's a new point to make to help you see what's going on over here in the GW world: how would a ninja class make any sense in GW? Would a traditional ninja belong in a GW party? Does espionage make any sense in GW? Aggro & kill is the strategy. It's a party based game taking advantage of the varying attributes that the classes have. I suppose you could argue that assassins don't have a place in party, as they, too, are supposed to work alone. However, assassins are in place, ninjas as a new class don't belong, and it's GW, not Splinter Cell.

You're right, it doesn't belong to the GW world I know, but I tried to introduced it. As for the Espionnage thing, it'd mostly be PvP based.. Well, the truth is, the Ninja would be only used in PvP, as it have nothing to do in PvE...

Well, my post wasn't clear enough. I didn't mean "tank" the way you get all the damage and still survive, but the "tank" where you dodge, get low damage, condition the attackers, etc.

Yep, new conditions would be the key and I agree that when the word ninja enters my ear, I think about agility, tricks.
I'll have to re-consider all this, and might work on it.
This char could only be PvP based as I said, since it would totally blow in PvE. And I guess I'll have to take the Assassination skill out, since that's the assassins job^^

@Manga
Because your layout is intuitive, so even without seeing it, there's a large chance that people will come up a somewhat similar one.
+ the people that post CC's that we want to read, first check out some other posts (and hopefully did a search for similar themed classes, for ideas or to offer their support) And with the amount of CC's you have pumped out, there's a large chance 1 or more of those previews of layouts will be yours.
(Though you have to watch out, with PT's CC factory he might out do you in numbers soon)
@ the OP
If your not a Naruto fan, how did you manage to get ninjutsu that wrong?
(Ninjutsu is only magic in Naruto, even in ninja movies its a martial art, at times in reaches of the impossible; not that impossible is necessarily a bad thing, it makes the movies look pretty cool)
A ninja is a healer turned killer, with their knowledge of anatomy they invented a martial art that exploits every weak spot humans have.
(for GW continuity, it would be ok to say they are experts of monster anatomy as well)
Once ninjitsu had been invented it could be thought to non medics as well, but that did not change that all ninjas had to learn of anatomy.
When [skill=text]Sharpen Daggers[/skill] was still activated on critical hits, it along with several skills in deadly arts, made clear how much a assassin was related to ninjitsu.
And for some reason I get the feeling you where planing on giving an attribute named ... magic mostly adrenaline based skills.
@Bowstring
Did you see a muffin before you jumped?
@every1
How did this CC get more replies in 9 and a half hours than some do in a week?
Are there really that many bloggers here? All of em itching for a pirate <> ninja argument?

I was assuming, ninjitsu magic was naruto like ninjitsu, because I though little other sources of ninja lore could have made it magic like.
On which, no I have never even seen a ninja in the FF MMO, Kinda surprises me as I did see a lot of armor pictures from it that were pirate themed(Yarr 'ej seam ta luv 'em 'ere!).
But on that, I don't know how wrong FF ninjitsu magic is, would need to wait till you post skills, to see if it is somewhat makes sense.

was it something I said in an earlier forum? xD
but still I give this idea a 10/30 (soo boooooooo)
0/10 for creativity, it's just a modified sin
10/10 for complex spell type system
5/10 for practicality
and you know what just take another -5 points because it's a complete and utter copy of NARUTO!!!!!! You even directly copied the lines of some of the earlier episodes as skills (espionage and so on). At the very least you watched it subbed at some point! xD
